The DarkSide
DarkSider's are a strange lot, I will say that right up front. We are a bunch of bizarre but lovable folks who used to meet
after midnight in Chat, which is like IRC but limited
to the MindLink BBS. I say used to because most of us "regulars" haven't been in chat in a while, which is
a cryin' shame, but the good news is that we meet a lot in person these days. We gave ourselves a name and
made a sort of club because we found that the same ones of us, with similar attitudes towards fun, frivolity
and tech talk (we are against it, mostly) used to meet night after night on the same channel. So we (or rather Bomand and Genie (who was Jeaness at that time)) began
to call the channel DarkSide. The name stuck, like spam thrown at a wall. For most of a year the DarkSide
was the place to be online, and then the monthly meets started to be the place to meet, and then
(I guess) people started to get... whatchacallums, lives. So the attendance in DarkSide, chat channel, has declined, while
attendance in DarkSide, meets for people of similar mindset, increased. This is to the good,
as we are a very huggy crowd, and hugs are so much better in person.
I used to have a huge list of "regular" DarkSiders on this page, but it was hideously inaccurate, so I junked
it. Sorry.
